Oracle Functional Implementation Manager

Position Description: The Application Consultant understands and/or challenges the business requirements and develops the means to configure the respective module to support these requirements. This role includes the ability to troubleshoot and recommend alternatives to resolve conflicts between business requirements and standard system functionality.

Job Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities are the following:

  • Define and manage projects, especially functionally aligned workstreams (e.g. resource requirements and project workflow) to meet engagement objectives and budget.
  • Be hands on application expert and prepare / review project deliverables (e.g. benefits realization strategy, to-be functional requirements, enterprise structure, business process master list (bpml), business process design document, to be functional design, baseline configurations (IMG), process maps, control matrices, testing scenarios, user acceptance tests, business process procedures) to ensure they meet project objectives.
  • Manage project financials including budgets, timely billing and collection.
  • Recruit and develop staff skills to support Oracle practice opportunities.
  • Participate in practice development by supporting sales activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key executives and a network of professional organizations or affiliations.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by writing or contributing to published articles, practice methodologies and tools, whitepapers.

Job Requirements:

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 6-10 years of Oracle Applications experience as an implementer.
    • Solid experience in Oracle's implementation methodology with hands on expertise in process mapping, GAP Analysis, functional design through stabilizing post go-live.
    • Minimum of 4 years experience with the Oracle Financial Reporting and General Ledger applications.
    • The ability to lead financial reporting stream including Chart of Accounts design, legal entity structure, ledger and sub-ledger accounting.
    • Experience in implementing Oracle Financial consolidation HUB.
    • Fixed Assets.
    • Cash Management.
    • Oracle Treasury Management.
    • Must also have experience with process and best practices within finance and accounting functional areas and how to leverage ORACLE functionality to support those best practices.
    • Experience in implementing and operating Oracle applications.
    • Experience designing and improving business processes Procure to Pay, Quote to cash and Financial reporting.
    • Experience managing groups of personnel in a project environment, evaluating performance and providing performance feedback.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate project goals and objectives, project status and deliverables with senior executives.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to resolve critical project issues by working effectively with Oracle support and client stakeholders.
    • Ability to lead workshops, build consensus and present best practices/point of view effectively.
    • Experienced user of Oracle in a business setting.
    • Experience in developing / implementing test strategies (Module-, Integration- User-Acceptance, Stress-Tes) and experience in developing training materials.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • CPA, CFA, MBA, or experience as an accountant or business analyst.
    • Oracle Certification.
    • Experience with other Oracle applications: Inventory, Revenue, HR, Procurement.
    • Direct experience in creating business change using Oracle.
    • Oracle configuration, conversion or detailed process design.
    • Experience with other major ERP packages.
    • Software selection and CRP/prototyping skill.
