Position Description: The System Administrator Specialist will assist in the daily mainframe systems operations, as well as timely and accurate processing of information through the mainframe systems. This involves the monitoring of all the mainframe systems for problems, running programs on-line, submitting jobs for batch control of job output. It also involves the running of system utilities and programs as well as printing, quality control and media distribution. The System Administrator Specialist will ensure that jobs are scheduled so that the systems are running as quickly and efficiently as possible. Required Technical Expertise: Proven experience in Mainframe operating systems MVS and Z/OS. Proven experience in security systems RACF and job entry subsystem JES2. Proven experience in System Management Facility (SMF), Omega on performance monitoring software and TPM. Proven experience in SMS and RMM. Position Requirements: Minimum experience of 10 years in areas related to Mainframe and IT operations with minimum of 5 years proven experience in IBM MVS / Z/OS environment. BS degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent degree. Possess a strong background in the Mainframe operations and procedures. The System Administrator specialist is capable to learn new technologies very quickly and resolve any problems involved in integrating new technologies with our systems. Proven experience with fault tolerance and disaster recovery design and documentation; in 2nd/3rd tier support; thin client architecture, clients, configuration, and installations Experience with server configuration and installation; performance and network monitoring tools; operating systems upgrades and migrations; strong troubleshooting skills with hardware and software.
